The Dept. of English at Sainik School Ambikapur represents a freshness of youth and experience comprising Four members with a broad spectrum of special tastes. The members work in a warm and amiable atmosphere. It strives for the enrichment of the language and an eagerness to appreciate English Language in its ingenuity to the cadets and the unwritten convention of conversing in English is scrupulously followed without exception. It is an English speaking zone.

The commitment towards fostering English has further been reinstated with the setting up of a state of the art English Language lab with latest software. The lab will provide the idealplatform to the staff and cadets to hone their communicative skills and brush the nuances of the language at the same time help them to develop a flair for good communication.

Traversing beyond the confines of the classroom, the dept provides ample opportunities to the students to master the art of public speaking by way of lectures, debates and declamation. Every year at the inception opf the academic session the department organises a skills workshop for all the cadets of the school and an orientation programme for the new entrants. The department also comes to aid the various other departments in handling their portfolios as well.
